Therma-Tru is making protective facial shields

Therma-Tru Doors to 3D Print Face Shields for Hospitals

Therma-Tru is making protective facial shields with 3D printing machinery facilities in Maumee and Edgerton for hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout Ohio. Therma- Tru plans to deliver more than 80 face shields within the next week and will continue to do so every week for the foreseeable future.

“As an Ohio-based company, we are committed to doing our part in the community during this pandemic,” said Mark Ayers, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Product Development at Therma-Tru Corp. “On behalf of Therma-Tru, we would like to thank all healthcare workers nationwide for their dedication during these challenging times.”

The company’s 3D printers are traditionally used to produce prototypes, templates, and jigs for the latest in Therma-Tru exterior door technology. Now they are also being leveraged to make re-usable shields that provide effective protection to a broad area of the face, helping to keep healthcare workers safe as they care for COVID-19 patients.

“While collaborating with industry 3D-printing technologists, we determined we had a unique opportunity to play a role and help out,” says Connor Funk, Lab Technician at Therma-Tru. “The particular design of shield we are making offers added protection with the visor. We are also exploring other designs without a visor that are even faster to print to increase the number of shields we can produce daily for healthcare staff.”

Therma-Tru obtained the shield template from resources provided by the National Institute of Health on products clinically tested to limit the spread of COVID-19 through aerosol and splatter exposure.

Therma-Tru is a premier fiberglass entry door system we always recommend.

GuildQuality recognizes the 2019 Guildmaster Award winners

2019 Guildmaster Awards

The annual Guildmaster Awards have been announced.  The awards celebrate service excellence in the building, remodeling, contracting, and real estate professions. Each year, GuildQuality gives special recognition to the companies that demonstrate an ability to deliver a consistently superior customer experience.  Gravina's Window Center of Littleton was named as 2018 recipients.

What are the Guildmaster Awards?

The GuildQuality Guildmaster Awards celebrate service excellence among home builders, remodelers, developers, property managers, home services contractors, and real estate professionals. The awards are open to all Guildmembers and GuildQuality will begin accepting applications in October. GuildQuality announces the award winners in April of the following year.

In granting awards, GuildQuality considers two primary metrics for each candidate: the percentage of customers who would recommend and the percentage of customers who responded. Incorporating a high response rate into the calculation enables us to confidently recognize top-performing companies, however, in many cases, some companies will receive very high customer satisfaction scores but may not qualify because too few customers responded to a survey.

Congratulations to all the companies who won!
